Morocco, Essaouira

A mystical land with a culture that goes back thirty centuries, Morocco is located at the crossroads of Berber, Roman and Arabs civilizations. Morocco's treasures include beautiful towns like Marrakesh, Fez, Rabat, Casablanca, and Essaouira. Historical landmarks and ancient buildings, souks and small restaurants with local cuisine, the rich blend of colors and sounds create a special Oriental experience.

Essaouira, the most quiet, friendly and relaxed town of Morocco, is located in the southwest region of Morocco on the Atlantic Coast. The ancient walls of Medina, white washed and blue shuttered houses, fishing market, yelling sea gulls and colorful boats underscore the charm of Essaouira.

The main attraction of Essaouira, apart from Medina with its labyrinth of narrow streets, is the wonderful sandy beach. It's wide, long and crowded in summer. The northeasterly trade wind here is accelerated by thermal action (the difference between sea and land temperatures is significant) and it seems as if it never stops to catch its breath. Essaouira is a perfect spot for wave novices, kitesurf novices and surfboarders. Advanced wave riders can try two more spots which are in vicinity: Sidi Kaouki and Moulay.
